The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has tasked the government to take decisive action against insecurity and unemployment in the country.
The call came as part of the association’s Easter message for the nation’s Christians, written and signed by its President, Dr Usman Oladipo Akanbi, and its secretary, Dame Joan Oji.
Expressing concern over the rising insecurity across the country, the association urged the government to take more decisive steps to address insecurity and deploy sustainable measures to address its root causes.
It also lamented the growing unemployment amongst youth in the country, describing it as “a critical issue that requires immediate and strategic attention”, and urged the relevant authorities to intensify efforts to create jobs, empower young Nigerians, and provide opportunities that harness their potential.
The association finally wished all Christians a peaceful and fulfilling Easter celebration. It was optimistic that the season would inspire renewed dedication towards building a safer, more united, and prosperous Nigeria.
