A suspected mentally- unstable man has allegedly killed his own son and two other children in a brutal attack that has thrown residents of Okitipupa in Ondo State into mourning.
The tragic incident reportedly took place inside a family residence and has left the community in shock and grief.
The victims, all said to be members of the same extended family, included a female student enrolled in the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme, her cousin, and a young boy identified as the biological son of the suspect.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that the assailant, a male relative alleged to be mentally unstable, attacked the children with a machete before fleeing the scene.

“The victims include a JUPEB student and two young boys. One of them is the attacker’s son, while the others are members of the extended family. It is a very sad situation,” the source said.
Further findings revealed that the head of the family, identified as Baba Agbaye, had earlier left home with his wife and youngest child for their oil farm before the incident occurred.
