A religious organisation, the Gateway International Church (GIC) has given N10.2 million as grants to students and entrepreneurs in Rivers State.

The gesture, which includes N180,000 to each of the 30 students as scholarships and N160,000 to each of the 30 entrepreneurs as skills acquisition support, was to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the church.

Also, 50 residents of the state received surgical interventions while 3,000 residents of Rumueme community in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state, benefitted from a free medical outreach organised by the Church.

The grand finale of the 30th anniversary celebration was the dedication of GIC headquarters in Port Harcourt christened: “Alter of Mercy”.

Dedicating the church headquarters, the general overseer of Dunamis International Church, Abuja, Dr Paul Enenche, stated that the church of Christ is beyond a physical building, lecture hall, or performance theatre, but a place for religious activities, a highly spiritual place, with supernatural implications, adding that understanding it is key to success.

Enenche emphasized that church represents the city of the living God, and the heavenly Jerusalem, meaning the extension of heaven on Earth, and God’s embassy on Earth, whose government is heaven.

He maintained that the Church is the address of enumerable company of angles, and the angelic encounters that are expected,as well as the venue for the operation of God.

In his remarks, GIC lead pastor, George Izunwa expressed gratitude to Pastor Enenche, who he described as his father in the Lord, for honouring the invitation despite his crowded and tight schedule.
