Delta State governor, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated prominent Niger Delta figure, Government Ekpemupolo (popularly known as Tompolo), on the occasion of his 55th birth yesterday.

In a goodwill message issued by his chief press secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor declared Tompolo a respected leader whose contributions have advanced peace, security and development across the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.

Oborevwori highlighted Tompolo’s impact as chairman of Tantita Security Services Limited, noting that his efforts have strengthened the fight against crude oil theft, boosted oil production, and contributed positively to the nation’s revenue profile.

He also acknowledged Ekpemupolo’s generous support to the Delta State Security Trust Fund, describing it as a demonstration of his commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

Also, the chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria and speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Dennis Guwor, described Tompolo as a legendary figure whose courage, sacrifice and commitment to the peace and development of Nigeria, especially in the Niger Delta region, have left an indelible mark on history.

In a goodwill message released in Asaba by his chief press secretary, , Nkem Nwaeke, the speaker, who is a nephew to the celebrant, extolled Tompolo’s contributions to women and youth empowerment, community development and the protection of national assets.

“Today, I join millions of Niger Deltans, Nigerians, and all lovers of peace and development across nations, to celebrate a living legend, my uncle and leader, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo. Your life is a testimony of resilience, fearless advocacy, and uncommon love for our people,” Guwor said.

The speaker maintained that the celebrant had consistently stood in the gap for the marginalized and have given voice to the voiceless, which is the hallmark of true leadership.
