The commander, 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army (NA), Brig-Gen. Nnabueze Emmanuel Okoloagu, has applauded the promotion of military officers, pointing out that such routine elevation was the necessary morale-booster for soldiers to effectively confront the security challenges facing the nation.

He made the remarks during the decoration of six newly promoted senior officers with their new badges of ranks.

The ceremony was conducted at 2 Phyton Officers Mess Extension, Mbiokporo Military Cantonment, Nsit Ibom local government area of Akwa Ibom State.

Okoloagu, therefore, thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, for finding the officers worthy to be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonels in the NA.

He, however, admonished the newly promoted officers to be role models to their subordinates and called on them to dedicate themselves to the service of the NA and fatherland.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Lt. Col. Emmanuel Adamu Kukah expressed gratitude to the Almighty God “for making this day a reality,” and the COAS, for the elevation, promising to carry out their responsibilities with renewed vigour and utmost professionalism.

He also appreciated the Commander, 2 Brigade, for his “exemplary leadership, guidance and support.”
