ADC Elects Abdullahi Tarauni As Kano Chapter Chairman

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has elected a Kwankwaso loyalist, Abdullahi Maikano Tarauni as its new chairman in Kano State.

The election was held during the party’s state congress held on Sunday, where a new set of executives was also unveiled.

Hon. Ali Datti Yako from Kiru was elected deputy chairman, while Hon. Ali Shettima from Nassarawa LGA, Hon. Bashir Kofa from Bebeji LGA, and Hon. Bello Yandadi from Ghari LGA emerged as first, second, and third deputy chairmen, respectively.

Dr. Bala Muhammad Inuwa from Takai LGA was elected secretary of the party, with Dr. Haruna Rogo from Rogo LGA serving as assistant secretary. Hon. Abba Muktar from Danbatta was named treasurer, alongside Hon. Balarabe Sarki from Bichi LGA as assistant treasurer.

In the financial unit, Prof. Salis Muhammad was appointed financial secretary, while Hon. Nura Makoda will serve as his assistant. Hon. Shehu Kabo was named publicity secretary, with Hon. Magaji Ya’u Indabawa from Kano Municipal LGA as assistant publicity secretary.

The party also appointed Barr. Muhammad Yahaya from Kura LGA as legal adviser, with Barr. Tahir Ibrahim Yakasai as his deputy. Hon. Yusuf Bature from Nassarawa LGA was named welfare secretary, while Hon. Kabiru Garba Abba from Sumaila LGA will serve as assistant welfare secretary.

Hon. Sunusi Surajo from Madobi LGA emerged as organising secretary, with Hon. Alu Karaye from Karaye LGA as his assistant. Hon. Sa’adu Zangon Mata from Dawakin Tofa LGA was appointed financial auditor, while Dr. Shehu Ibrahim Bawa from Tarauni LGA will serve as assistant financial auditor.

Further appointments included Hon. Ahmad Maikoriya from Dawakin Kudu LGA as special needs leader, Hon. Farida Kamba from Ungoggo LGA as women leader, and Hon. Hauwa Awaisu from Shanono LGA as deputy women leader.

Hon. Sunusi Oscar from Fagge LGA was elected youth leader, with Hon. Abba Abdulhamid from Kumbotso LGA as his deputy. Hon. Mustapha Bala Getso from Gwarzo LGA emerged as Chief Whip, while Hon. Bashir Tijjani Maisango from Nassarawa LGA was named deputy Chief Whip.
