A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Dr Muideen Salako, has pledged to create opportunities for young people and women if elected governor in 2027.
He also promised to deliver meaningful development across the state if given the mandate to govern the state.
Salako spoke during a visit to the APC Secretariat in Offa, Offa local government area of the state.
He emphasised the strategic importance of Offa in the political landscape of the state and urged the party members to ensure the town presents credible and capable aspirants.
“My aspiration is inspired by the call from my people, who believe I am competent and credible to contest for the governorship seat,” he said.
“As a community leader passionate about youth empowerment, I am confident in my ability to create opportunities for young people and women, while delivering meaningful development across the state.”
He noted that his consultations had already begun at the ward level, adding that his visit to the Offa APC leadership was a formal step in seeking broader party support before proceeding to the state capital for his official declaration.
In a move that underscored his commitment to party development, Salako donated N1m to party members present and pledged to fully furnish the new APC secretariat in Offa.
He further called for unity among stakeholders, stressing that early mobilisation and collective backing for Offa-based aspirants would be critical to securing victory at the primaries.
In his remarks, the chairman of APC in Offa, Prince Kunle Adegboye, commended Salako’s dedication to strengthening the party’s structure.
He particularly highlighted his contribution to the recent membership drive, which saw Offa’s registration figures rise significantly from 14,000 to 48,000.
