A former presidential candidate, Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies, has expressed satisfaction with the commendation issued by the Council of American Peace Advocates (CAPA) regarding the President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s recent decisive actions against terrorism financing networks in Nigeria.

Adesanya-Davies noted that CAPA, a globally recognised peace and advocacy organisation, recently applauded the federal government for identifying and blacklisting 60 additional individuals and corporate entities linked to terrorism financing.

“The organisation described the development as a “gratifying and necessary advancement” in strengthening national and regional security architecture,” she noted.

Adesanya-Davies described CAPA’s statement as “a strong affirmation of international confidence in Nigeria’s renewed security direction.”

She called for continued transparency, justice, and accountability in all counter-terrorism operations in the country.

“The Council of American Peace Advocates (CAPA) reiterated its broader mission of promoting peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and sustainable development in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“At its March 2026 Gender-Based Violence (GBV) training programme, CAPA reportedly empowered over 2,000 participants across Africa, including delegates from Nigeria and Eswatini.

CAPA concluded by reaffirming its commitment to global peace advocacy and institutional reforms that prioritize diplomacy over violence,” she added.
