For the family of Mr/Mrs Sunday Ekpo, of Ifa Ikot Okpon community in Uyo local government area of Akwa Ibom State, years of groping in the darkness of poverty and wants have been erased from the family history.

The harbinger of the new era in the household is the new bundle of joy – a set of triplets born into the family, which attracted the compassionate disposition of Governor Umo Eno, who came to their rescue with a brand new three-bedroom accommodation with a cash grant for business.

The presentation during the brief ceremony was carried out on behalf of the Governor by the commissioner for humanitarian affairs, Princess Emem Ibanga, who also presented the house documents and a business support grant to the family.

Governor Eno congratulated the beneficiaries and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing decent shelter for vulnerable citizens through the ARISE Compassionate Homes Initiative (ACHI).

He described the gesture as an act of divine grace and prayed for strength, provision, and a bright future for the children.

Providing details of the facility, the Special Assistant (SA) to the Governor on Humanitarian Services, Prince NsikanAbasi Umoekpo, explained that “the bungalow is fitted with solar power, water supply, and other modern amenities for comfortable living.”

In his remarks, the Presiding Pastor of the All Nations Christian Ministry International (ANCMI), Pastor Udomfuk Ndaeyo, commended the Governor’s benevolence, describing the gesture as “evidence of compassionate leadership.”
