The Katsina State Government, in collaboration with the Society for Family Health (SFH), has launched and disseminated an integrated RMNCAEH+N health facility flip chart to enhance primary healthcare service delivery across the state.

The flip chart, designed as a practical communication and service-delivery tool, aims to support frontline healthcare workers in providing integrated, high-quality care across reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, adolescent, elderly, and nutrition health.

Speaking at the event, the Monitoring and Evaluation Lead of the RMNCAEH+N programme for SFH, Umar Adam, described the initiative as a major milestone in strengthening healthcare systems and promoting positive health-seeking behaviours in Katsina State.

He noted that the tool, developed with support from partners and led by SFH, has now become a standardised document that will guide service delivery across primary healthcare facilities in all local government areas.

“This document has evolved into a critical communication tool for the state to improve primary healthcare services. We look forward to seeing its full implementation across all facilities,” he said.

In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Primary Health Care Agency, Dr Shamsuddeen Yahaya, highlighted the significant strides the state government has made in the health sector over the past 2.5 years.

According to him, the government has invested billions of naira in upgrading infrastructure, providing essential equipment, and improving access to primary-level healthcare services.

He further disclosed that 1,021 healthcare workers have been recruited to strengthen service delivery across the state’s 34 local government areas.

Yahaya emphasised the importance of balancing both supply and demand in healthcare delivery, noting that while the government has improved service availability, the flip chart will help drive increased demand and utilisation of services.

“As integration is a key principle of primary healthcare, this tool will support our frontline workers to deliver more effective, efficient, and quality services,” he said.

He also commended development partners for their sustained support, acknowledging the time, expertise, and resources they invested to make the initiative a reality.

The Katsina State Government expressed optimism that the deployment of the RMNCAEH+N flip chart will improve key health indicators and strengthen service delivery outcomes across healthcare facilities.
