The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has charged the contractor on high standards and quality delivery, as construction kicked off on a new National Control Room at the National Control Centre (NCC) in Osogbo, Osun State.
The project site was handed over to Messrs FBS Construction Engineering Services Limited, during a ceremony on Monday. Speaking at the event, NISO’s managing director/chief executive officer, Abdu Bello Mohammed, charged the contractor to uphold high standards through collaboration, professionalism, and strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.
He tasked NCC management with robust supervision to ensure on-schedule completion.
The executive director (System Operations), Nafisatu Asabe Ali, reinforced the directive, calling the NCC a critical national asset for security and economic growth.
She described the handover as a milestone of clarity and purpose, expressing faith in the teams’ ability to deliver grid-enhancing infrastructure.
The executive director (Finance and Corporate Services), Babajide Ibironke, urged the contractors to embrace national responsibility, noting the project’s role in nationwide electricity stability.
He noted that the initiative is pivotal to improving electricity stability nationwide.
