The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has held a strategic meeting with chairmen of political parties as part of preparations for the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

The meeting, which took place at the Commission’s headquarters, was in line with the approved timetable for the June 13, 2026, local council polls.

Addressing party representatives, the ADSIEC Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Umar, said the Commission had made adequate arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful conduct of the elections across the state. He reaffirmed that the polls would hold as scheduled and urged political parties to intensify their preparations while strictly adhering to electoral guidelines.

Umar further disclosed that 11 political parties have successfully submitted candidates to participate in the elections.

Earlier, the Commissioner in charge of Logistics, Hon. Emmanuel Anuhu, presented a detailed overview of the provisions of the ADSIEC Law 2000, particularly as they relate to electioneering and campaign activities. He emphasized the need for all stakeholders to comply with electoral regulations and uphold ethical standards throughout the process.

Speaking on behalf of the political parties, Mr. Adamu Usman, representing the ADC Chairman, commended the Commission for its early preparations and called for fairness and justice in the conduct of the elections.

In separate remarks, Mr. Paul Ahuadana praised ADSIEC for its well-structured timetable, expressing confidence in the Commission’s ability to deliver a credible electoral process.
