An entrepreneur and political aspirant, Aminu Imafidor, has declared his intention to contest for the Edo State House of Assembly, pledging to deliver inclusive and effective representation for the people of Etsako East Constituency.

Imafidor made the declaration while addressing supporters and community leaders across the constituency, saying his decision was driven by the need to deepen grassroots development, promote youth inclusion, and strengthen representation.

According to him, Etsako East—comprising Weppa Wanu, Ibie, and Okpella—deserves a representative who will effectively articulate the needs and aspirations of the people at the state legislature.

“Our people deserve quality representation. We need a voice that will defend our interests, attract development, empower youths, support women, and create opportunities for the future,” he said.

He noted that despite the constituency’s human and natural resources, several communities continue to face challenges, including poor infrastructure, unemployment, inadequate schools, and limited access to healthcare.

The aspirant pledged to focus on key areas such as education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, rural infrastructure, and youth empowerment, stressing that governance must create opportunities for economic growth.

“As an entrepreneur, I understand the importance of creating opportunities. Government must create an enabling environment where businesses can thrive and families can prosper,” he added.

Imafidor also emphasised the need for unity across the constituency, noting that collaboration among communities remains critical to achieving sustainable development.

“Our diversity is our strength. When we work together, progress becomes inevitable,” he said.

He assured constituents that, if elected, he would prioritise transparency, accountability, and accessibility in leadership
