Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man, Saidu Isah, of Almuri in Misau local government area, for alleged trespass and theft at the premises of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in Bauchi.
The suspect was accused of breaking into the NBC office behind Elim Church in Yelwan Tudu and carting away three smart television sets valued at N400,000 each.
In a statement issued yesterday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, said operatives of the ‘E’ Division, Yelwa, arrested the suspect on May 3, 2026, during a routine patrol as part of ongoing efforts to combat crime.
According to him, the suspect confessed during interrogation to conspiring with an accomplice identified as Abdul, also known as ‘PA’, from the Wunti area of Bauchi, who is currently at large.
“The duo, in furtherance of their unlawful act, trespassed into the premises of the National Broadcasting Commission located behind Elim Church, Yelwan Tudu, Bauchi, and carted away the three television sets,” the statement said.
Habib added that the case was still under investigation at the ‘E’ Division, while efforts had been intensified to apprehend the fleeing accomplice.
He promised that the suspect would be charged in court upon the completion of preliminary investigations.
The commissioner of police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting life and property across the state.
He urged the residents and organisations to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
