Darazo/Ganjuwa Lawmaker Mansur Soro Opts Out Of 2027 Contest

Member representing Darazo/Ganjuwa federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, has announced that he will not contest for the seat in the 2027 general election.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his aide, Safiyanu Ibrahim Darazo, informing the people of the constituency of the lawmaker’s decision to step aside from the race.

Mansur Manu Soro expressed gratitude to the people of Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, for the support and opportunity given to him during the 2023 general election.

He described the opportunity to represent the constituency as a rare privilege and appreciated the trust reposed in him by the people.

The lawmaker assured constituents that he would continue to focus on delivering his responsibilities and supporting the development of the area through education, healthcare, and other community projects.

Some of the projects he highlighted include Gifted School Sade, Gifted School Soro, Gifted School Darazo, Gifted School Kafin Madaki, Special Primary School Lanzai, and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) study centre in Soro.

Others are Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima Pediatric Hospital in Sade, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed Pediatric Hospital in Soro, Hajiya Hadiza M.A Abubakar Pediatric Hospital in Gabarin, and Hajiya Maryam Uwais Pediatric Hospital in Miya.

The statement added that Mansur Manu Soro would remain active in politics and continue contributing to the growth and development of Bauchi State and Nigeria.

“MMS prays to Almighty Allah to continue to bless Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, Bauchi State, and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement said.

Recalled on May 1, 2026 member representing Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency in Bauchi State and chairman, House Committee on small and medium enterprises, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing persistent internal crisis.

In a resignation letter addressed to the Ward chairman of the PDP in Ganjuwa Ward, Ganjuwa local government area, he attributed his exit to deepening divisions and unresolved conflicts within the party.
