The senior apecial assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Community Engagement (North Central), Dr Abiodun Essiet, has won the Senior Special Assistant of the Year (Public Engagement & Delivery) award at the 100 Most Influential Progressives Award 2026, organised by The Progressives Magazine.
The award recognised her contributions to grassroots engagement, peacebuilding, community development, and public service delivery across the North Central region.
Since her appointment, Essiet has spearheaded initiatives to strengthen citizen participation, promote inclusive governance, and deepen collaboration between communities and government institutions.
Organisers of the award said the recognition was in acknowledgement of her commitment to community-driven leadership and support for the Renewed Hope agenda of the Tinubu administration.
The award ceremony, which attracted political stakeholders, government officials, and members of the progressive movement, celebrated individuals considered to have made significant impacts in governance and public service.
Supporters and associates have also described Essiet’s recognition as a reflection of her efforts to foster peacebuilding initiatives and enhance engagement between the government and grassroots communities in the North Central zone.
