An expert in the construction sector, Ibraheem Babayeju, has emphasised that the quality of plumbing materials used in construction plays a major role in the safety and lifespan of buildings.

Babayeju, who is also the chief operating officer of Kazeem Royal Properties and Constructions Ltd, disclosed this at a recent gathering of industry professionals. He noted that many avoidable structural and water-related problems often stem from the use of inferior products.

He said his company has continued to invest in modern manufacturing processes to produce pipes and fittings that are strong, reliable, and capable of lasting 50 years and above. He explained that the company’s goal is not only to provide products but also to raise industry standards.

Babayeju further described plumbers as essential contributors to national development, pointing out that efficient water systems remain critical to healthy living and sustainable urban growth. He encouraged professionals in the sector to embrace continuous learning and uphold high standards in their work.

Industry experts at the event said that as Nigeria’s construction sector continues to evolve, conversations around quality materials and modern plumbing solutions are becoming increasingly important. They highlighted the need for durable and technology-driven plumbing systems in the country.

The event, which coincided with the inauguration of newly elected executives of the Association of Professional Plumbers of Nigeria (APPN), attracted stakeholders from across the construction and plumbing industries. It served as a platform to discuss how innovation and professionalism can help improve building standards and public health nationwide.

The gathering also featured remarks from government representatives and industry leaders who stressed the importance of technical education and vocational training in driving economic growth. Participants agreed that empowering skilled workers and promoting quality workmanship would help strengthen Nigeria’s infrastructure sector in the long run.

Many attendees said the event reflected a growing shift within the plumbing industry — one that places greater value on innovation, professionalism, and long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes.
