A former board member of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), Andrew Aondofa Chila, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ukum State Constituency.
The returning officer of State Assembly Primary Election Committee for Ukum Constituency, Emmanuel Terkura Ukula, while announcing the results, declared Chila as the winner of the APC ticket as he scored 24,300 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Humphrey Uke, who got 1,142 votes.
Meanwhile, Chila has commended APC members in Ukum for coming out enmass to vote for him, describing the victory as divinely ordained.
He promised to provide sound and quality representation which would focus on delivering development and addressing the needs of the constituency if elected in 2027 elections.
The APC flagbearer appealed to the people of Ukum to massively mobilise and vote for all APC candidates in the forthcoming polls.
Chila hailed fellow contestants for the maturity displayed throughout the primary election process, calling on them to put aside any differences and support him to secure victory for the party.
