‎President Bola Tinubu has secured a sweeping victory in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary in Ondo State, polling 181,966 votes across the 18 local government areas of the state.
‎
‎The exercise, which was conducted on Saturday in different parts of the state, witnessed massive turnout by party members, with leaders of the APC describing the outcome as a clear demonstration of support for the President ahead of the 2027 general election.
‎
‎Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who served as the collation and returning officer for the primary, announced the result at The Dome in Akure after collating figures submitted by local government collation officers.
‎
‎Aiyedatiwa disclosed that 193,334 party members were registered for the exercise, while 181,996 members were accredited and voted during the primary election held across the state.
‎
‎According to the governor, Tinubu polled 12,048 votes in Akoko North-East Local Government Area, 10,388 votes in Akoko North-West, 6,005 votes in Akoko South-East and 9,485 votes in Akoko South-West Local Government Area.
‎
‎He added that the President secured 6,834 votes in Ose Local Government Area, 13,313 votes in Owo, 10,898 votes in Akure North and 15,864 votes in Akure South Local Government Areas.
‎
‎The result further showed that Tinubu garnered 5,059 votes in Ondo East, 14,333 votes in Ondo West, 8,797 votes in Idanre, 7,939 votes in Ifedore and 7,299 votes in Ileoluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area.
‎
‎In the remaining local government areas, the President polled 12,257 votes in Odigbo, 9,610 votes in Irele, 9,512 votes in Okitipupa, 7,036 votes in Ese Odo and 15,320 votes in Ilaje Local Government Area.
‎
‎Aiyedatiwa also announced that the second aspirant in the contest, Mr Stanley Osifo, failed to secure any vote across the 18 local government areas of the state.
‎
‎Speaking shortly after the announcement of the result, the governor described the exercise as one of the most peaceful and successful primaries ever conducted by the APC in Ondo State, commending party members for their unity and loyalty to the President.
‎
‎He said the outcome reflected the strong support enjoyed by the APC in Ondo State, expressing optimism that the same level of mobilisation and participation would be replicated during the 2027 general election.
‎
‎“This outcome reflects the unity of our party and the confidence our members have in President Tinubu’s leadership ahead of the 2027 election,” Aiyedatiwa said.
‎
‎The governor further declared that Ondo State was now fully aligned with the APC, adding that the party had begun mobilising towards delivering one million votes for Tinubu in the next presidential election.
