Nigerian internationals Rinsola Babajide and Shukurat Oladipo have added another major accolade to their growing list of honors, after AS Roma secured a dramatic victory over Juventus in the Coppa Italia Women final to complete a historic domestic double.
The keenly contested final saw the Giallorosse triumph 1-0, with midfielder Manuela Giugliano emerging as the hero after netting the decisive goal just ten minutes from full time.
The win sealed Roma’s second major trophy of the 2025/26 season, having already claimed the Serie A Femminile title earlier this month.
Oladipo, who has been a defensive stalwart for Roma throughout the campaign, played the entire 90 minutes of the final. Her commanding performances at the back did not go unnoticed—the center-back was earlier named the Best Defender in the Italian top flight for the 2025/26 season, a testament to her consistency and influence.
In contrast, versatile forward Babajide was an unused substitute in the final, yet she remains an important part of Roma’s attacking depth.
Across all competitions this season, the former Liverpool and Rayo Vallecano player made 14 appearances for the club, contributing one goal and three assists. Oladipo, meanwhile, featured in 31 matches across all fronts, underlining her durability and key role in Roma’s backline.
The double-winning feat marks a significant achievement for both players, as Roma continue to establish themselves as a dominant force in Italian women’s football.
For the Super Falcons duo, the season ends on a high note, further raising their profiles ahead of upcoming international assignments with Nigeria.
