With the 2026 World Cup just a month away, FIFA has confirmed the official list of team base camps, revealing where all 48 participating nations will train and stay during the tournament.

Hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the expanded competition will see most teams headquartered in the U.S. A smaller number will operate from Mexico and Canada. According to the announcement, 39 teams will be based in the United States, seven in Mexico, and two in Canada.

Defending champions Argentina and England are among the sides setting up camp in Kansas City, highlighting the city’s role as a key tournament hub. Argentina will train at Sporting KC Training Centre, while England will use Swope Soccer Village.

Heimo Schirgi, FIFA’s Chief Operating Officer for the 2026 World Cup, said the camps are central to the tournament experience, providing teams with a place to train, recover, and manage daily competition demands.

One notable development is Iran’s confirmed base in Tijuana, Mexico, following concerns over potential U.S. visa complications. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that her country would allow Iran to operate from Mexico to avoid possible restrictions.

Other nations based in Mexico include Colombia, South Korea, South Africa, Tunisia, Uruguay, and the host nation itself. Canada and Panama will establish their camps on Canadian soil.

Major teams have chosen their locations: Brazil will be in the New York-New Jersey area, France in Boston, Germany in North Carolina, Spain in Tennessee, while the U.S. team will train in Irvine, California.

The 2026 World Cup marks the first edition to feature 48 nations, expanding the tournament’s footprint and spreading team camps across North America.
