Zora African Market, a newly launched digital platform, is expanding access to authentic African food, fashion, and beauty products across the United Kingdom.

Co-founder of the platform, Cynthia Anuoluwapo Abraham, said the marketplace was created to transform how African products are discovered and purchased in the UK, making them more accessible, convenient, and affordable for consumers while also opening new opportunities for African vendors.

She explained that access to authentic African goods has traditionally been limited to select local stores and community hubs, which often makes it difficult for customers to easily find trusted groceries, fashion items, beauty products, and cultural goods.

According to her, Zora African Market addresses this gap by providing a centralized digital marketplace that connects customers directly with African vendors, simplifying the buying process and improving product availability.

The platform, launched officially on June 1, 2026, is accessible via iOS, Google Play Store, and the web, and offers users a seamless shopping experience with free delivery services that bring products directly to customers’ doorsteps.

Abraham noted that the marketplace features a wide range of products, including African foodstuffs, groceries, spices, grains, fresh and frozen foods, beverages, traditional clothing, footwear, beauty and skincare products, hair products, cosmetics, accessories, arts and crafts, home décor, herbal products, cultural items, and gift products.

She added that technology is rapidly reshaping consumer behaviour in the UK retail space, with digital platforms increasingly playing a central role in expanding access to ethnic and cultural products.

According to her, Zora African Market is leveraging this shift to modernise access to African goods while preserving their authenticity and cultural value.

Beyond e-commerce, Abraham said the platform is also focused on strengthening African entrepreneurship by supporting small and medium-scale businesses seeking to increase their visibility and reach within the UK market.

She disclosed that vendors can currently register on the platform free of charge, with no hidden fees, as part of efforts to reduce barriers for African entrepreneurs looking to scale digitally.

Describing the launch as a significant milestone for African commerce in the diaspora, she expressed confidence that Zora African Market would continue to reshape how African products are discovered, purchased, and delivered across the United Kingdom while deepening connections between African businesses and consumers.
