The family of the immediate-past Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has celebrated the safe rescue of his sister and her twin children from kidnappers, stressing that insecurity remained a national challenge that transcends politics, ethnicity, religion, and social status.

Reacting to the successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons, Peter and Paul, who were recently abducted and held in captivity, the family described the menace of insecurity as a common enemy that requires collective vigilance, cooperation, and collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, political leaders, community stakeholders, and citizens.

In a statement issued by Comrade Femi Awogboro, Media Aide to Chief Adebayo Adelabu, on Sunday, the family maintained that support for security agencies and a united national effort were essential to building a safer and more secure Nigeria where every citizen can live and pursue their aspirations without fear.

The family prayed for God’s continued protection over security personnel, freedom for all those still in captivity, and lasting peace, security, and prosperity for Nigeria.

It expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God, security agencies, government officials, political associates, and Nigerians from all walks of life following the safe rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke and her children.

The family said it was relieved and thankful that the victims had been rescued unharmed and are currently in good condition.

According to the statement, the successful rescue underscored the power of collective action, the resilience of Nigeria’s security institutions, and the unwavering support of citizens and government at all levels.

The family specifically appreciated the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for his concern and commitment to the security and welfare of all Nigerians.

They also commended the governor of Oyo State for his support, concern, and cooperation throughout the difficult period.

Special appreciation was extended to the Inspector-General of Police, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, and the Oyo State Police Command, for their professionalism, dedication, and tireless efforts that contributed to the successful operation.

The family further acknowledged the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) and officers of the Service at both the national headquarters and the Oyo State Directorate for their intelligence-driven operations, which played a vital role in securing the victims’ freedom.

The statement also thanked the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Oyo State chapter of the party, political leaders and stakeholders across the country, government officials, friends, family members, religious leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders, and countless Nigerians who stood by the family in solidarity.

“The outpouring of visits, phone calls, messages, prayers, and words of encouragement provided immense strength and hope to our family during one of the most challenging moments of our lives,” the statement noted.

While celebrating the safe return of the victims, the family said its thoughts and prayers remain with other victims of kidnapping and their loved ones who are still awaiting freedom.

“We pray that Almighty God, in His infinite mercy, will grant them safety and reunite them with their families,” the statement added.
