Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has stepped in to clear the medical bills of veteran Nollywood actor Sonny McDon, who is currently battling prostate cancer.

The Governor’s Special Assistant on Entertainment and Tourism, J Martins, announced the development on the social media platform X. He stated that the veteran actor had been managing the health challenge for several years before the governor took over the financial responsibility for his treatment.

“I am pleased to announce that H.E @alexottiofr has taken over the medical expenses bill for one of Abia’s legendary actors, Mr Sunny Macdon, who has been battling with prostate cancer for some years now. The office of the SSA on Entertainment & Tourism appreciates his kind gesture.”

McDon has spent over 30 years in the Nigerian film industry as an actor, producer, and director, starring in major productions like Force Empire and Domitilla: The Reboot.
