Former Germany international midfielder Sami Khedira is poised for a sensational return to Real Madrid, this time joining José Mourinho’s backroom staff as an assistant coach.
According to reports from Sky Sports, it was Mourinho himself who vehemently pushed for Khedira’s appointment, with the former Real Madrid player having already given his enthusiastic approval.
Final negotiations are anticipated in the coming days, with the deal expected to be concluded by the end of the month. Khedira, 39, is earmarked to play a pivotal role, both on the training ground and within the dressing room, leveraging his extensive experience as a player at the highest level.
The plan is for him to be integrated into Madrid’s coaching setup well in advance of the pre-season schedule.
Mourinho, meanwhile, is officially slated to commence his second spell at the helm of Real Madrid on 1st July.
