Rector Hails Ocholi’s Appointment As TETFund Board Member

Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Prof. Salihu Sanusi Avidime, has congratulated Dr Hassan Abdulrahman Ocholi on his appointment as the North Central representative on the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

Avidime described the appointment as well-deserved and a source of pride for Kogi State and the North Central region, expressing confidence that Ocholi would make significant contributions to the development of tertiary education in Nigeria.

In a statement issued yesterday, the rector also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as a thoughtful appointment, saying it reflected the administration’s commitment to recognising competence, integrity and excellence in public service.

He noted that Ocholi’s academic accomplishments, wealth of experience in public service and higher education administration, as well as his record of exemplary leadership, made him well suited for the national assignment.

According to Avidime, Ocholi has earned a reputation for diligence, innovation and measurable results, adding that his deep understanding of Nigeria’s tertiary education sector would enable him to contribute meaningfully to the realisation of TETFund’s mandate.

“There is no doubt that this appointment is richly deserved. His proven track record of service and understanding of the tertiary education landscape position him to make impactful contributions to the Board of Trustees,” he said.

The rector further congratulated the government and people of Kogi State, describing the appointment as another recognition of the state’s pool of competent professionals capable of serving the country with distinction.

He expressed optimism that the Presidency would continue to tap into the wealth of human resources available in Kogi State for national development.

Avidime also reaffirmed Kogi State Polytechnic’s commitment to partnering with the TETFund Board of Trustees to promote institutional excellence, infrastructure development, research, innovation and manpower development across Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.

He prayed for wisdom, strength and good health for Ocholi as he assumes his new responsibility, expressing hope that his tenure would be marked by remarkable achievements and lasting contributions to the advancement of tertiary education in the country.
