Zamfara State government has extended its heartfelt sympathy to the people of Birnin Magaji local government area following the recent bandit attacks that claimed dozens of lives and left several others injured across different communities in the area.
As part of efforts to support the affected families, the state government donated N32,132,000 to the families of those who lost their lives and the ones who sustained injuries during the attacks.
The state deputy governor, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi who represented Governor Dauda Lawal, yesterday, said 50 persons lost their lives, while 15 sustained varying degrees of injuries in the attacks on several villages within Birnin Magaji local government area.
Addressing the gathering, the deputy governor conveyed Governor Lawal’s condolences to the bereaved families and assured them of the state government’s unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens.
He reiterated that, the government would continue to strengthen security measures and provide support to communities affected by insecurity.
In their separate remarks, the Emir of Birnin Magaji, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dan Ali Hussaini Mode Usman, the Chairman of Birnin Magaji local government, Engr. Abdulhadi, and the member representing Birnin Magaji State Constituency in the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Nura Dahiru, expressed profound appreciation to Governor Dauda Lawal and the Zamfara State Government for the timely intervention and humanitarian gesture.
They also commended the Zamfara State government for intensifying efforts to address insecurity across the state and expressed confidence that the ongoing security operations would restore lasting peace to Birnin Magaji and other affected communities.
