Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Kwara United have moved to strengthen their technical department ahead of the upcoming 2026–27 campaign, announcing the appointment of Ladie Ojokojo as the club’s new chief coach.
The young tactician joins the Harmony Boys from the Kwara Football Academy, where he had been honing his coaching craft and developing young talents over the past several seasons.
Ojokojo’s promotion to the senior team marks a significant vote of confidence in his abilities, as he transitions from the academy setup to the high-pressure environment of Nigeria’s top-flight league.
The 2026-27 season will be his first major test at the elite level, but club insiders believe his familiarity with the club’s philosophy and his progressive coaching methods make him an ideal fit for the role.
In his new capacity, Ojokojo will work directly under the club’s technical adviser, Suleimon Ashifat, forming a refreshed partnership in the dugout.
While Ashifat will oversee the broader strategic direction and match-day tactics, Ojokojo is expected to take charge of day-to-day training sessions, player development, and on-field organization—essentially serving as the bridge between the coaching staff and the playing squad.
The duo’s synergy will be critical as Kwara United look to improve on their previous campaign and push for a continental qualification spot.
The club has confirmed that Ojokojo will resume his duties with immediate effect, wasting no time in integrating himself into the team’s ongoing pre-season preparations.
The Harmony Boys are currently in the thick of their build-up for the new season, with a series of friendly matches and intensive training drills already underway at their Ilorin base. Ojokojo is expected to hit the ground running, assessing his new squad and implementing his tactical ideas well before the NPFL kickoff.
For Kwara United, the appointment is part of a broader effort to inject fresh energy into the technical crew while maintaining continuity through Ashifat’s continued presence.
The club’s management has expressed confidence that Ojokojo’s youth, hunger, and intimate knowledge of the academy’s rising stars will pay dividends—not only in terms of results but also in bridging the gap between the reserve setup and the first team.
Fans of the Harmony Boys will be eager to see how this new-look coaching tandem shapes the team’s identity in what promises to be a fiercely competitive season ahead.
