The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) under the leadership of director-general, Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, has been commended for its intervention that facilitated the timely renewal of a Nigerian international passport for a citizen who had experienced delays.

The commendation followed a testimony shared online by a Nigerian woman, who recounted facing prolonged delays in renewing her passport through the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).

According to her, after reaching out to PEBEC for assistance, the council responded promptly and coordinated with the relevant authorities, leading to the successful issuance of her passport.

Expressing her appreciation, she described the experience as proof that “Nigeria works,” praising the responsiveness of the government.

The development has been cited as another example of PEBEC’s ongoing efforts to eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks and improve service delivery across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Observers say the intervention underscores the Council’s role in fostering efficient collaboration among government institutions to ensure that citizens receive timely and effective public services.

Analysts also noted that such success stories help strengthen public confidence in government institutions by demonstrating that coordinated reforms can deliver tangible benefits to Nigerians.

Established to improve Nigeria’s business environment, PEBEC works closely with Federal MDAs to simplify regulatory processes, enhance transparency, and promote efficient service delivery for citizens and businesses.

The online testimony has continued to attract positive reactions from Nigerians, with many describing it as evidence that ongoing public sector reforms are yielding results and making government services more responsive to the needs of the people.
