Insecurity:ANCOPSS Orders Closure Of Sokoto Schools

Following persistent killings and abductions in Sokoto State neighboring Zamfara State, All Nigeria Conference Of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) through Area Learning Centres has directed all Principals in the 20 Local Government Areas of the State, to ensure that all schools are closed down with effect from Monday until further notice.

A confidential memo titled: “Urgent and Confidential Notice to all Principals,” sighted by our correspondent said schools in Sokoto South, Sokoto North, and selected schools in Wamakko and Dange-Shuni Local Government Areas will continue to operate and are exempted from the closure.

When called for response the Permanent Secretary Sokoto Ministry of Education simply said, ” Call ANCOPSS, I am busy, don’t involve me in their issues.”
