The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a landslide victory in the electoral ward of the wife of its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
The development was recorded as results from various polling units and wards across the state continued to emerge during the ongoing collation exercise.
The victory in the ward is significant as Oyebamiji, the APC candidate, is seeking to unseat the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is contesting the election on the platform of the Accord Party.
The election has witnessed a keen contest between the two leading candidates, with early results indicating a close race in several parts of the state.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has continued the collation of results from the state’s 30 local government areas.
The commission is expected to announce the final result and declare the winner after all outstanding results have been received, collated and verified at the state collation centre.
