Major League Soccer side FC Dallas hafinalised the permanent acquisition of Nigerian winger Daniel Job from Norwegian second-division club Kongsvinger IL, the club announced Wednesday.
The 21-year-old attacker has signed a contract that runs through the 2029/2030 season, with a club option to extend for an additional year. He joins the Western Conference outfit following a productive half-season stint in Norway’s OBOS-ligaen, where he registered 20 appearances across all competitions, netting eight goals and providing nine assists.
According to league sources, the transfer fee for Job is approximately $5.2 million, which sets a new record outgoing fee for Kongsvinger and represents one of the more significant investment moves by FC Dallas in recent transfer windows.
Job, who primarily operates on the right flank but is capable of cutting inside from either wing, is expected to bolster Dallas’s attacking options as they push for a playoff berth. The Nigerian youth international will occupy an international roster slot and is pending receipt of his P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC) before he becomes eligible to feature for the Bulls.
FC Dallas technical director Andre Zanotta expressed enthusiasm about the signing, citing Job’s pace, dribbling ability, and final-third productivity as key attributes that fit the club’s system. Job is slated to join the team for training pending the completion of his work authorization, with his potential debut hinging on the swift processing of his immigration paperwork.
