The people of Verre and Gurin Constituencies in Fufore Local Government of Adamawa State, have tasked the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer in the forthcoming election into the Upper Chamber of the Senate, representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Senator Abdul-Aziz Murtala Hammenyero Nyako, to prioritise roads, hospitals, education and security among others when elected.
The plea was made during an APC stakeholders consultation in Yadim and Gurin wards respectively, as a prelude to Senator Nyako’s campaign.
Speaking at the occasion in Yadim ward under Verre District, Bishop Amos Yakubu said, the road linking Yadim to Yola is horrible and the people are living in a state of despair without adequate police posts while their medical and educational facilities are steadily decaying.
According to him, the bad road has affected businesses, farming and other socio-economic activities in the area.
He urged the senator to tackle the situations when elected and returned to the Senate.
Adding that, the youths are jobless and needed to be employed, especially in the Police and Armed forces.
The Bishop further stressed that, the zone is vast and suitable for agriculture, but there are no incentives to boost farming.
Similarly at Gurin District, Danladi Beti, stressed the need for intervention in agriculture, education and the provision of an international market, assuring the senator that, they will ensure victory for his party and as well return him back to Senate.
Responding, Senator Nyako promised to do his best when elected, saying that, they will work together with the governor, the members of Federal House of Representatives as well as State House of Assembly in other to succeed.
