Davido Reveals Dangote Drove His Mum Home After His Birth

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his relationship with billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote dates back to his childhood.

Davido made the revelation while speaking about his relationship with the business mogul during a recent interview in Lagos, recalling how close Dangote was to his family around the time of his birth.

“Aliko Dangote drove my mom home from the hospital when she gave birth to me,” he said.

The singer said Dangote has remained a familiar figure in his life and has consistently offered him financial advice over the years.

According to Davido, the billionaire’s most repeated advice has been for him to save and manage his money wisely.

“Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money.’ He’s been saying that since I was a baby,” he said.

Davido said the advice has remained relevant as he built his career and accumulated wealth in the entertainment industry.

The “Fall” crooner also described billionaires as ordinary people despite their enormous wealth, noting that their lifestyles are often different from public perception.

He added that Dangote was a close associate of his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke, stressing that the relationship between their families has lasted for decades.

Davido said his connection with Dangote has continued from childhood into adulthood.
