House of Representatives member Hon. Chinedu Ogah has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the financial dealings and sources of wealth of popular socialite Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chief Priest.
Hon. Ogah, representing the Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State, requested an audit into the nightlife entrepreneur’s assets following allegations of money laundering and suspicious financial flows.
The petition follows a public dispute sparked by a viral video in which Cubana Chief Priest criticised Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, calling his administration a failure and urging his resignation.
In response, Hon. Ogah defended the governor, describing the socialite’s comments as an attempt to undermine state progress. He challenged Cubana Chief Priest to declare the legitimate business enterprises funding his lifestyle, prompting the request for EFCC intervention.
The EFCC has not officially confirmed receipt of the petition, and representatives for Cubana Chief Priest have not issued a formal response to the allegations.
