Group Asks Ethnic Nationalities To Intensive Campaign For Abe

A group, the Nigeria Ethnic Forum (NEF), has called on ethnic nationalities in Rivers State, to intensify their campaign for the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Magnus Abe.

This is as it thanked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for extending the period for the collection of permanent voter’s cards (PVCs) and called on ethnic nationalities in the state to use the opportunity to collect theirs.

Addressing a press conference in Port Harcourt yesterday, national publicity secretary of the group, Mazi Felix Chikwendu Onwuma, said Abe is the governorship candidate of choice and perfect fit for the job of governor of the state.

Onwuma said, “Nigeria Ethnic Forum as a social cultural organization, we want to reaffirm our commitment towards enthroning good governance in Rivers State and Nigeria at large.

“We know what we have been through as non-indigenes in Rivers State. We are very aware also of the setbacks we have had in the time past, of policies of government which has affected us negatively more than improve our lives.

“But at this time and season, we need to do things differently and believe God for a better result, as He God knows us very well even before we were born.

“When Nigeria Ethnic Forum had their first meeting with His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, the very day we agreed to partner with him on his project, his name was not on any ballot  but we believed strongly that he will have a platform  or a good party to contest with.
