Though, the outcome of the meeting which has permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar and some directors in attendance were not made public, LEADERSHIP weekend sports gathered that it was to deliberate the Stadium handover process

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari has agreed in principle to return the stadium to the state government and Governor El-Rufai to the Sports Minister on Thursday may not be far from working out the details of the handover.

The Ahmadu Bello Stadium is one of the oldest stadia in Nigeria and was designed in 1965.

With 16, 000 capacity, the stadium has hosted several games involving the national teams and two FIFA tournaments — 1999 under-20 World Cup and 2009 under-17 World Cup.
