Cross River NDC Candidate Urges Leaders To Avoid Distraction

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency, Mr Ededem Hogan, has charged chapter and ward leaders of the party in Akpabuyo local government area to remain focused and undistracted ahead of the 2027 general election.

Hogan gave the charge on Tuesday, in a message to party leaders and faithful at a meeting held at Nakanda Ward, Akpabuyo. He was represented by Mr Effiom Henshaw, a party chieftain, He said the party must not lose sight of the goal, which, according to him, is to win the House of Representatives’ seat.

“Let us not be distracted. Let us organise to win the House of Representatives’ seat in the forthcoming election,” Hogan said.

The NDC candidate, who apologised for his absence due to urgent party engagements at the National Secretariat in Abuja, told the leaders that with barely three months to the election, there was no room for complacency.

“With barely three months to the election, there is much to be done. We must take our message of hope to the nooks and crannies of Akpabuyo and beyond,” he stated, urging them to ensure campaign materials distributed get to every household.

He described chapter and ward leaders as the campaign’s messengers, adding, “I am counting on you to carry our message with conviction, explain our commitments clearly and encourage our people to participate.”

Hogan assured the party faithful that his campaign, anchored on the theme “Ready to Serve,” was on course to win, promising not to disappoint the trust reposed in him. In his remarks, NDC  chapter chairman for Akpabuyo, local government area, Comrade Ekpenyong Bassey, urged party supporters to work assiduously towards winning 5/5 for the party from the presidential position to the ward level so that the country can experience the desired change that would put an end to poverty and economic hardship troubling the nation.
