Smartphone manufacturers are increasingly offering larger batteries to meet demand for longer-lasting devices, as Nigerians contend with unreliable electricity, long commutes and growing reliance on mobile phones for work, communication and digital transactions.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G leads the list of smartphones with the largest stated battery capacities in Nigeria in 2026, with a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. It also supports 100W HyperCharge and up to 27W wired reverse charging, plus a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display and 5G connectivity.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G ranks second with an 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery, 67W HyperCharge and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. It also features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 platform and IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings under specified test conditions.
The realme C100 4G occupies the third position with an 8,000mAh Titan battery, 45W fast charging and up to 10W reverse charging. Its other features include a 6.8-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a MediaTek Helio G92 Max chipset.
At fourth position is the REDMI Note 17, which has a 7,700mAh silicon-carbon battery, 45W Turbo Charging and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi lists a 6.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 platform among its specifications.
The REDMI 17 follows with a 7,500mAh battery, 45W Turbo Charging and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging, while the vivo Y31D ranks sixth with a 7,200mAh BlueVolt battery. The vivo model supports 44W FlashCharge and up to 6W reverse charging, with a 6.75-inch 120Hz LCD and a Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G platform.
Three other smartphones—the TECNO Spark 50, itel A300+ and Infinix Hot 70 Pro—are listed with 7,000mAh batteries.
The TECNO Spark 50 supports 18W fast charging, with the manufacturer claiming more than 28 hours of continuous video playback under laboratory conditions. The itel A300+ combines a 7,000mAh battery with 22.5W charging and a secondary 2.01-inch interactive rear display. It also features a 6.78-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and runs Android 16 (Go Edition).
The Infinix Hot 70 Pro is listed with a 7,000mAh battery, a 6.78-inch 120Hz IPS display and a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset. The TECNO Spark 50 4G completes the list with a 6,700mAh battery and 18W fast charging.
The specifications highlight the range of large-battery devices available in the supplied Nigerian market listings, with four of the first six models belonging to Xiaomi’s REDMI 17 and REDMI Note 17 series.
However, battery capacity alone does not determine how long a smartphone will last between charges. Network strength, screen brightness, processor efficiency, background applications and usage patterns all influence battery endurance. Charging technology also determines how quickly a depleted battery can be replenished.
Meanwhile, for consumers, battery size remains one consideration alongside price, durability, processing performance, software support and access to after-sales service. Buyers should also confirm the availability and specifications of individual models with manufacturers or authorised retailers, as features may vary by market.
The ranking is based on the battery capacities stated in the supplied product information. The figures do not constitute an independent test of battery endurance, and actual performance may differ under everyday conditions.
