Christian stakeholders from Kaduna state have resolved to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for a second of office in the 2027 general election.

They also resolved to mobilise Christians from all over the Northern states, especially the North West to vote for both President Tinubu and Governor Sani in next year’s polls.

These resolutions were contained in a communique issued at the end of the meeting convened by the Tinubu-Uba Sani Support Organisation (TUSO) for Christian Stakeholders from both the Southern and Northern parts of Kaduna state.

The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Kaduna Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), comprising chairmen of CAN from the nine Local Government Areas from the Northern part of the state, Giwa LGA inclusive; Southern Kaduna Leadership Elders’ Council (SKLC) and Chairman of the 63 Community Development Associations (CDAs).

Other attendees include Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Counsellor (Political) to Kaduna State Governor, Sen. Uba Sani, and Professor Dauda Ishaya, who is the outgoing President of Hausa Christians.

In the communiqué signed by the Convener and Chairman of Kachia local government council Hon. Manzo Daniel Maigari and Director-General, TUSO, Hon. Matthew Kaku, the participants resolved to work together in unity for the attainment of common interests with faith and community leaders playing vital roles in providing support in articulating and pursuing the interests of Christian faithful in the state.

They also agreed to go beyond Kaduna State and form a national body for the entire 19 Northern states to identify with the objectives of standing up for the Christians in the Northern states of Nigeria and creating a solid platform for engendering effective participation ensuring inclusive political outcomes.

“Given the performance profiles of both His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, and the nomination of a Christian Deputy Governorship candidate by the Governor, including the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences (FUAS) Kachia; Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Kafanchan, stakeholders resolved to support the re-election of the President and the Governor to enable them to consolidate and sustain what they have started at both the federal and state levels in the interest of Christians who were relegated by the previous administration led by Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai.

“The stakeholders also resolved to mobilise Christians from all over the Northern States, especially the North-West, in terms of voting capacity for both President Tinubu and Governor Sani for the victory of APC Presidential Flagbearer and Kaduna State APC Governorship Candidate for the 2027 Polls.

“The Meeting resolved that the Christian political elite should focus on working in harmony and not allow personal interests to overshadow the bigger picture of defending the interests of Christians in Kaduna State. Participants agreed to work for the elimination of all forms of discord that may hamper the objectives of TUSO.

“That the Southern Kaduna Christians, in agreement with Northern Kaduna Christians, resolved to carry them along in the pursuit of our collective interest as a Christian bloc in the state.

“That in solidly giving our support to the President and Governor, we the voters expect our leaders to reciprocate with inclusive governance and fairness in distributing the dividends of democracy, and that we shall then hold them accountable for the fulfilment of the aspirations of not only Christian communities in Kaduna State, but across the entire state of the North,” the communiqué read further.
