Kano State deputy governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has told stakeholders of the state in Lagos that he would pursue industrialisation of Kano as governor.

Gawuna said he would encourage investors to take advantage of the enabling environment in the state to stimulate the economy for the

benefit of the people.

This was contained in a statement issued yesterday in Kano by his chief press secretary, Hassan Musa Fagge.

He said the Kano stakeholders based in Lagos and investors organised the meeting in partnership with the Directorate of Stakeholders’ Management of his governorship campaign council held at the Eko Hotel, Lagos.

According to him, “Through the plan we will identify all the economic potentials where Kano has advantage with the aim of outlining how it could be harnessed.”

Gawuna promised to sustain the policies of the incumbent government in collaboration with other agencies to fight the drug abuse menace in the state.

He said a bill on people with disabilities was recently signed into law by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for the development and establishment of a commission for the people with disabilities that would pave the way for inclusion.

The deputy governor said he would collaborate with the federal government to facilitate the development of the abundant mineral resources in the state.

He assured the investors and the Kano stakeholders based in Lagos that the Gawuna-Garo gubernatorial ticket is committed to consolidating the

modernisation and expansion of infrastructure and other laudable

projects initiated by the present administration.

In his remarks, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje said Kano has followed the

route Lagos has taken in adapting continuity in governance.

“We are in Lagos because of similarities with Kano in adapting

continuity in governance.

“Our candidate (Gawuna) as the deputy governor is conversant with the

laudable achievements recorded in the state.

“He has a lot of experience in governance, we are therefore confident

he would take the state to greater heights,” he said.

On his part, a former national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole

while canvassing support for Gawuna said the meeting signified that

true leaders genuinely care about their people and are committed to

service.
