Manchester City maintained their winning streak in the Premier League after edging Ipswich Town 3–2 in a thrilling encounter, with Erling Haaland scoring a hat-trick.
City took the lead in the 19th minute through Phil Foden, who finished off an assist from Jérémy Doku, but Ipswich responded two minutes later as D. Maeda levelled the score from A. Ouattara’s pass.
Haaland restored City’s advantage in the 34th minute, converting a pass from Mateo Kovačić to give the hosts a 2–1 lead at half-time.
The Norwegian striker struck again in the 69th minute, finishing off an assist from I. Ndiaye to extend City’s advantage to 3–1 and put the hosts in a commanding position.
Haaland thought he had added another goal in the 85th minute, but a VAR review ruled out the effort, denying him the opportunity to extend his tally.
Ipswich refused to give up and reduced the deficit in the 90th minute, with Z. Flemming converting a penalty to set up a tense finish.
Despite the late pressure, City held on through 12 minutes of added time to secure all three points and continue their impressive run in the league.
The 3–2 victory underlined City’s attacking strength, with Haaland once again proving decisive, while Ipswich’s late fightback was not enough to prevent defeat.
