Police authorities in the Philippines have confirmed an ongoing forensic examination of digital devices and materials seized from the former residence of Thomas Markle Sr. in Cebu City, according to a report by the New York Post.
Philippine Interior Minister Jonvic Remulla confirmed on Sunday, October 25, 2026, that national police units inspected the property and recovered a laptop alongside alleged child pornography materials.
The investigation commenced after Markle Sr.’s son, Thomas Markle Jr., reported discovering the stored digital files to law enforcement officers.
Interior Minister Remulla stated that forensic data analysis of the seized electronics is expected to be completed within a week to establish the facts of the case.
“In these cases where family disputes are mixed up, we have to consider all the angles. We want to be sure before we release the findings. The forensics data will be complete in a week,” Remulla stated.
Markle Sr., an 82-year-old retired Hollywood lighting director and estranged father of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has denied the allegations, describing the claims as untrue.
Philippine law enforcement officials noted that a formal statement will be issued once the forensic report is concluded.
