The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Abubakar Kabir Bichi, says the All Progressives Congress in Kano North is targeting at least one million votes for President Bola Tinubu and the party in the 2027 general elections.
Bichi, who represents Bichi Federal Constituency, stated this on Monday at a stakeholders’ meeting of the APC Campaign Council in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State.
He said the meeting was convened to identify potential challenges ahead of the elections and strategise on how to secure victory for the party across the state.
Bichi said Kano North, which comprises 13 local government areas, had about 1.3 million registered voters, expressing confidence that the zone could deliver at least one million votes for the APC.
He added that the party was determined to surpass the votes recorded in Kano Central, which traditionally records a high number of votes in the state.
“We are not just talking about Bichi or Kano North; we are talking about all the 44 local government areas. We are talking about the whole of Kano, and we will get what we want,” he said.
The lawmaker urged residents to support Tinubu and the APC in the next general elections, citing what he described as the developmental projects and interventions delivered by the President’s administration.
“We believe that the APC and President Tinubu deserve our votes because he has done a lot of development projects for our people,” Bichi added.
The meeting was attended by the Kano State Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, and a former Minister of Housing, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, alongside other party leaders and stakeholders.
