Rangers International will switch their focus to domestic football and their Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 11 fixture against Rivers United after being eliminated from the CAF Champions League.
The Enugu club exited the continental competition after losing 3-2 on aggregate to Algerian side MC Alger. Fidelis Ilechukwu’s team will now prepare to face Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Rangers are seeking a return to winning form as they aim to strengthen their position in the NPFL title race. The club said on its official X account that attention had moved to the next match and that it was targeting the three points in Port Harcourt.
Rivers United currently lead the NPFL table with 17 points from 10 matches. Defending champions Rangers also have 17 points, but they have two outstanding games and remain firmly in contention.
The upcoming fixture is expected to be an important test for both teams, with Rangers hoping to recover from their continental disappointment and Rivers United looking to stay at the top of the standings.
