The Bayelsa State Draught Association, in collaboration with the King Odogu Draught Centre, has announced the eighth edition of the King Odogu Draught Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, in Yenagoa.

The championship division tournament, which is open to draught players and members of the public, will take place at the King Odogu Draught Centre in Yenizuepie, Yenagoa, the state capital.

In a statement, the Chairman of the Draught Tournament Committee, Dike Azuka Richard, and committee member King Odogu said the competition would showcase the skills and strategic abilities of draught players from across Bayelsa State.

Describing the tournament as a clash of titans, the organisers said the event would provide a platform for players who are indigenes and residents of the state to compete for honours.

The winner will receive ₦150,000, while the runner-up will earn ₦100,000 and the third-placed player ₦50,000.

The fourth-placed participant will receive ₦20,000, while consolation prizes of ₦10,000 will be awarded to other participants.

The committee said the tournament would be held under the chairmanship of the Paramount Ruler of Obunaghan Kingdom, HRH Peremobowei Yesibo (Ibolor XII).

Former Bayelsa State Acting Governor, Rt Hon Wernispreye Seibarugu, and former Deputy Governor Peremobowei Ebebi are among the special guests of honour.
