Imo State commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mathew Sunday Ovye has declared that everything within the confines of the law will be done to rid the state of vandals and human traffickers.
Ovye made the disclosure while speaking during a press briefing in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
He commended the efforts and doggedness of CG Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi in repositioning the corps and hailed him for the prestigious and deserving national recognition as LEADERSHIP Newspapers Outstanding Government Agency of the Year 2022.
He said under the watch of Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi as the Commandant General of the NSCDC, the different commands had devised measures to protect national assets and stop human trafficking.
He commended the CG for initiating strategies to protect national assets across the country and stop vandals from vandalism.
The Imo commandant disclosed that the CG’s strategies had contributed to the protection of government critical national assets, such oil pipelines, NITEL cable wire, telecommunication masts amongst others.
Ovye said, “The CG has in no small measure contributed to the fight against human trafficking, he has supported the different commands to arrest child traffickers, so it is not a surprise the NSCDC won the Leadership outstanding Government agency of the year 2022.
“The CG’s achievements towards instilling professionalism, dedication to service, and trust in the corps is unprecedented and has earned NSCDC both national and international recognition.”
According to him, the NSCDC had effected several arrests across the country since the emergence of Audi as the CG.
Ovye pledged the continuous dedication and support of the entire Imo State Command and prayed for God’s wisdom upon the CG to move NSCDC to greater heights.
