The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has affirmed that the governorship and State House of Assembly elections scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2023 will hold as scheduled.

The nation’s electoral body also said it will conduct the re-scheduled National Assembly elections in Enugu and Edo states on Saturday, 11th March, 2023 along with the governorship and State Assembly elections.

The Commission said the decision was taken during its regular weekly meeting yesterday, Thursday 2nd March, 2023, where it deliberated on several issues, including the presidential and National Assembly elections, the governorship and State Assembly elections, and the pending elections in Enugu East Senatorial District and the Esan Central/Esan West and Igueben Federal Constituencies in Edo State.

Meanwhile, in Kano State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has called on the security agencies to work round the clock to ensure law and order is maintained before, during and after the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
