Private commercial boat operators  in Lagos have promised to mobilise two million voters for the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to win the March 11 governorship elections in the state.

The operators said the votes would be from inland waterways users and occupiers of littoral states.

It was gathered that the operators had started interactions with traditional rulers and water users around the littoral communities of Epe, Badagry,  Ikorodu and Badore in Victoria Island.

The litoral communities have a growing population of fishermen, traders, fiberglass and boat builders and brown water enabled entrepreneurs.

A top source,  close to the Congress of Boat Operators and Sundry Activities Entrepreneurs, said Governor Sanwo-Olu brought a sense security and safety on waterways transportation ecosystem in Lagos, adding that even though more is expected to truly democratise and empower private sector boat operators and ferry services entrepreneurs, the re-election of governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is not negotiable.

“We have met, reviewed activities, action plans,  and indeed, going door to door,  community to community to drum up support for governor Babajide sanwo-0lu because he must finish the good works he started about four years ago.  We are ready,  very ready to process about two million voters in our sector to make it happen.  More of our plans will be made public on Wednesday after another round of our meetings” he said.
