The Niger State government has disbursed N20.5 million to 10 households affected by the recent construction of the Kontagora bypass.
The director of valuation/ compensation at the state ministry of works and infrastructure, James T. Bake, handed over the cheques to the beneficiaries at the weekend and urged them to utilise the money for the purpose meant.
He stressed the administration’s commitment to fulfil its promise of enhancing the standard of living of the people through quality road networks in the state.
He said the compensation became necessary due to the alignment of the road network with the area.
A beneficiary, Saminu Usman, who spoke on behalf of the others, thanked the state government for the compensation and assured that they would make judicious use of the money.
